We can not believe week 5 just flew past!
Shopping seems to be one of our favourite pass times, when Allan disappears I know I can always find him
in the Bakery Department.

While out for one of our morning walks we found this little food stand on the corner of Zetina Gasca and Joaquin Hendrics. We must go by later in the day to see what their food is like.
This little miss was out for a stroll too I guess.
These trees are most interesting, their roots grow from above and enter the ground for nourishment.
During our morning walks we often go the Super Aki, another grocery market here in the Colonia,
to purchase their bacon - real bacon! It is not quite as heavily smoked as ours back home but still good, they slice it as thick as the customer likes.
One day while on our way to Cancun for household shopping we stopped at the Municipal Palace to watch the opening ceremonies in celebration of the area becoming a Municipality.
Our crowing rooster isn't around anymore - no more early morning wake up calls. I am afraid to think of what might have happened to him.
The residents of this occupancy have their priorities straight, they have a satellite dish!
Turkeys in time for American Thanksgiving and Christmas!!!

Allan prepared a lovely dinner of tenderloin cooked
inside a whole pineapple with
foil baked mixed vegetables and boon's wine! Delicious!
The town square at the Port often has entertainment, this week they had a concert of local people singing. We sat for a bit then found in hard on the ears so we walked through the park among the vendors. The sound was so much better once we were a distance away from the speakers.
One of the vendors makes pendants from coins, one pendant is of a sun and the other the moon,
both cut from the same coin.
Others sell different styled jewellery, lamps, popcorn and shoes to name a few. The majority of the vendors are expats. 😞
Saturday we went to the beach for lunch and a walk, again due to low season there were very few people. For those who do not like crowded beaches now is the time to come to Puerto Morelos. The sun is hot, water is warm and you don't have to worry about not finding beach chairs and umbrellas. The service at the restaurants and bars is the same top notch service you get in high season.
The Sargasso is gone!!! The local government and volunteers have worked very hard to get the season ready for us vacationers. The orange booms I mentioned last week are working well at keeping the Sargasso out away from shore and any that finds its way in through the boat passages is cleaned up regularly.
Awe - Paradise is a wonderful place.
Speaking of Paradise, we had a different bird come to visit us this week. A little Woodpecker.
He was on a Coconut Palm which is in our neighbours front yard but close enough to our security wall we were able to get a good view of him.
I apologize for the number of pictures of birds but it was so hard for me to choose only one.
I was outside at the right time to catch this fellow again - I can not help but wonder if he is the same Mourning Dove that I hear in the early mornings at home in Canada.
