February 27, 2011

Today we went to the La Papa and Cafe in the  Colonia  for brunch, only because of their potatoes

There was an extended wait because the potatoes were not fully prepared prior to our arrival. Potatoes were our reason for coming so we all agreed to wait. Their potatoe dishes are the best.

To fill in the time we played the old grape vine game where one starts a story and it is wispered to the person next until it gets around the group and the last person tells aloud what he has heard.

It got pretty exciting at times so lots of refreshements were needed

then the food came - it was as good as our last visit and well worth the wait. Of course we knew it would be - that is why we waited. Those kids couldn't possibly go back home without another meal of La Papa's potatoes.

These two are trying to make sense of a Spanish magazine.

The rest of the day was spent at the beach

making designs in the sand

 people watching

snorkeling

and good old R&R

This is a section of the gardens at the Cabanas Puerto Morelos

On our way to dinner is a good time to drop off the laundry.
We use a different laundry service this year - not near as much fun, no thongs for Edith

Tonight we had a fabulous dinner at  Terraza, it is quite unique and the food was excellent

We had a great time

following dinner we had a little workout at the park

The girls did some shopping then we went for Ice Cream at the best ice cream parlor in town located beside the bookstore

We came across a girl with a puppy in the square - an instant love affair!

Today we are off to Tulum!!!! This time we catch take the small van "collectivo" at 7:30 in the morning, some of our party like it  better than the larger one

Someone in this photo is not happy with the little van.

With a little teasing we get a smile! Looks like it is going to be a good day afterall.

2 and 1/2 hours later we meet our guide for our tour of Tulum.

About 10 minutes or less into the tour the little ones are bored and looking for the infamous Iguona! Mother is most uncomfortable, with the amount and location of the iguanas, not the kids.

They were really impressed with this mama turtle laying her eggs along side the path.

Myan writting on the paper - not on the ipod the cross legged one is looking at.

The last time we see the children smiling on the tour. They all agreed it was  because they were trying to digest all the information they were being given from our most knowledgable tour guide. I am so proud of my Grandchildren!

The red hand prints in the upper left of this photo indicates the signature of the architect

Following the tour the smiles came back and the children relaxed with Mom and went swimming in the surf. They had a great time
 while getting cooled off.

More family smiles in this photo.

The maiden has been captured - looks like she is going to be happy with her new mate

In serious thought while watching the surrounding happenings

Whatever is happening is most interesting

We finished the day with dinner at Spaghettino's

Decide for me Mom, I am too busy

The end to another great day
