it is hard to believe the difference in the weather
Our plane arrived in Cancun yesterday at 12:25 and the temperature was 25 C/77F with a nice warm rain. We booked a taxi through “cancunshuttle.com” on the internet before leaving Toronto, it was there waiting for us and had us delivered to Puerto Morelos before 2:00 o’clock.
Rob and Joanne (our landlords) were waiting for us when we arrived at “Casa del los Viajeros”. They gave us a guided tour of the apartment and brought us up to date on some of the happenings in PM since we were here last year. Once settled in, we went for groceries (the staples – cerveza!!! and other items). We then stopped at Ed’s – “Cantina Habanero”, for a cerveza (couldn’t wait until we got back to our Casa) and had a little visit with him and Natalie. I hear there has been a new addition to their family since we were here last year. A son, whose name is Jeremy – a little brother for Jess – can’t wait to see both of them
Later in the afternoon we went to “La Petita” for dinner – it was a delicious as we remembered from last year. As an FYI, Bob and I had a fillet of fish with garlic butter, Allan had breaded fish and Edith had shrimp. Each dish was served with rice/vegs/garden salad. The cost was $20.00 US for Allan and I which included 3 cerveza; Bob and Edith paid $25.00 for their dinner. Quite reasonable we thought.
We were all tired after a long day which started at 2:30 am with a wakeup call from the hotel desk in Toronto. Bed time came early.
Today is our 42nd wedding anniversary – I wonder where we will decide to have dinner this evening. It is a beautiful day here today – no wind, some cloud and hot, hot, hot!! We have been out for a walk along the beach and now looking at having something for breakfast.
………..it is now 09:14 in the evening – we had dinner at “Restaurante El Faro” above the supermarket near the dock. The shrimp and ribs were to die for!!!!! The waiter’s name was Xavier; he was very friendly and accommodating. There was nothing we asked for that he could not get for us.
Along with you I will look forward to tomorrow’s happenings, so till then – do take care and I wish you were here!!
