THE SECOND WEEK

I am picking up where, or near where
I left off from last week

It really did take all day for Hugh to make his delicious baked beans. Note to self - these beans are the type that can leave skid marks in your underwear if you're not careful!

While the beans were cooking in the slow cooker Allan put up our house number sign.

Then he installed shelving in the Guest Room which is the Master Bedroom this year

Then he bought some corn to go with the evening's dinner

Hugh watched the beans, drank beer and sang along to the country music on the computer while enjoying the sun.

Allan filetted the fish Abraham brought by earlier.

Hugh was letting  Allan know the beans were ready

Before  we  finished eating , a neighbourhood cat smelled the fish and came by hoping for a taste. I am not getting into that mess again this year! Remember I started feeding the neighbourhood cats, later they all  came in heat and had an orgy on our roof! Oh, what a night that was, they kept us awake ALL NIGHT!

Monday December 12th was the celebration for "Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe"

Hugh is ready to head out to the park to watch
 the evening's festivities.

The ladies were dancing in the street - what a beautiful display of costumes and talent!

This is the new Municipal building here in the Colonia of Puerto Morelos

This cactus has long barbs - trust me I
found out they are sharp.

Donna and Allan in the park

The Municipal Police have  a major presence in the community this year - both day and night. Now having said that, we do not see a high amount of crime. The theory is if they are present and patrolling the community it will keep the crime rate down. We do feel very safe here.

The Municipal Police cuffed this fellow and  loaded him in the back of their police truck to take him off to jail.

We stopped for brunch in the Port at Tuch Tlan - while there  our good friend Abraham
 stopped to say good morning.

While we were having brunch a small parade passed by.

This little one was taking photos and tapping
her feet to the music from the parade.

Then we went shopping for souvenirs at the Mayan Market

One can not go into the Port without
stopping by at the town's Catholic Church

The upgrades they have done this past year
are amazing - beautiful!

This is a new wing built on the South side of the church - it is small, beautifully designed and has air conditioning.

We later met up with our pool maintenance man
Juan and had a nice chat while we waited
for the bus to take us back to the Colonia

When we arrived back home it was pool time!

This is a bird's eye view of our back patio

This was our last day together so we spent it at
the beach bar "My Paradise"

We drank our buckets of beer, had lunch and spent the afternoon in the sun. It was a gorgeous day! What can be better than a day at the beach under the Caribbean sun and sharing it with good friends?

That evening we enjoyed dinner at Tejones Locos Restaurant

We were serenaded by two young fellows during dinner, actually they weren't that bad at singing.

Dinner was orgasmic Shirley!

After dinner we took a walk through the park

Donna managed to escape from Hugh to get some more shopping done. LOL! Actually it wasn't difficult to loose him - the store is very small, Donna, me and Marianna the shop owner took up all the space, there was no room or Hugh.

The next morning we went to El Nicho for brunch and stopped at the local farmers market before heading back to the Colonia so Hugh and Donna could finish packing to catch their flight home. I didn't have my SD card in my camera so there are no photos of that excursion. :-(

The balance of the week was filled with odd jobs, laundry, grocery shopping and some more  fluffing the nest in our casa.

This is the Master Bedroom. Liz, who came on the 18th says it looks like a bordello - and she is sleeping in it! She wants to change the front gate lights to red!

Allan hooked up the flow through hot water heater and installed the rain shower shower head this week too.

                                   and the tree is up!

It has been another great week in Puerto Morelos - the time is flying by too quickly.

Love to all, we are enjoying the sunshine.
