Buenos Dias Ameogs!!!!

After Spanish lessons we treated ourselves to breakfast at El Nicho - again we were not disappointed.

Our view from inside the restaurant

We tried the Eggs Benedict just to compare with the competition up the street - it's a 10 out of 10

Always love to visit a Catholic church, this one is the church on the square here in Puerto Morelos

We stopped to pick up laundry - this is the neighbourhood dog - Colleen, notice he has had a dislocated hip, it was like this last year. I see now that the leg muscle has atrophied a lot since last we saw him last.

We joined  with locals, expats and tourist who gathered in the town square today in retaliation of the break ins  and lack of police co-operation

This fellow was the speaker representing the community

Armed police officers  were  prominently scattered throughout the park - their  presence was for protection of the Cancun Police Officials and Political representatives.

They were well prepared for action. Reminded me of our visits to Germany and Northern Ireland.
This is a police dignitary who has promised more police presence from Cancun - he certainly has a "don't piss me off" look about him.

This man is a local - he catches the burglars in the Colonia and holds them until the police arrive. He indicated the crook is begging the police to take him away as soon as they arrive. With a buffed body like this I would imagine he is called to many locations on a "Call Wolf" whim. Could be cause for a new job opportunities like "Rent a Burglar". What do you think ladies?

Advertising of the music festival at the local school this week

Can you see the freighter off on the horizon? Someone once told me if you have to explain your picture it wasn't worth taking - This is a good example of that.

Oopps! These kids have just had a sand fight - guess who lost?

This family is working of the building of their sand castle

Here is another one to be explained - can you see the two birds - they remind me of our killdeers, for some reason.

This is the finished product - they completed their sand castle

A Mexican Hairless Dog (The Xoloitzcuintli-) - now that was easily read wasn't it. This is the first one I have seen outside of captivity. This was late in the day, normally they are in out of the sun during the day because with no hair they very easily sunburn and dehydrate.More information  can be found at

Tonight we had dinner at El Pirata -

This is their chief, he reminded us of Wade at Green Acres in
Sheguiandah

New York Strip Steak -OOOOOOOH so good!!

The Moon Cactus in starting to bloom - this will be a nightly visit for pics until the blooms are finished.

On completion of our walk about town this evening we stopped at the
"Restaurant Hall Of Fame" for a nightcap.

Thinking Shirley H and Kathleen H would both enjoyed being with us to watch the game between Detroit and St. Louis. Oh, Jackie B you are a hockey fan too aren't you?

Allan found his ice cream cone again tonight - no dieting here

Cantina Habaneros is rocking

This is the last photo of the day - the meeting today caused the Cancun Police to upgrade their service to Puerto Morelos - there are several police vehicles with armed officers circulating throughout the community. There have been over 20 break ins within the past 2 months. Hopefully this catches the burglars and puts a stop to the trouble here in Puerto Morelos.

Buenas noches Y Hosta Manana
