We met up with Charlie Brown this morning. Charlie is one of the models used in the reef project off Cancun. As you can see by the pics on his shirt he is very proud of his part played in the effort to repair that part of the reef destroyed from the severe hurricanes .

Later in the morning we took the ADO bus and went to Playa del Carmen for lunch. More R&R.
These are so pretty, it is called a Heliconia.
This is the Catholic Church on the corner across from the ADO bus station on 5th Ave. It is the Nuestra Sanora del Carmen.
Portal Maya, is the name of this sculpture and I understand it was designed by sculptor José Arturo Tavares as part of the 2012 celebration of the end of the Mayan long count calendar. It depicts a man atop a column of wind and a woman atop a column of water joining hands at the top. The two rings represent the Juego de Pelota (the ball court) seen at many of the Mayan archeological sites.
Hand carved statue - I wish I knew the story behind it, it looks like an interesting one.
These skeleton ladies are used in celebrating the day of the dead.

The van of sweets is back in town this year with the mother load! Bought a piece of cake to share before bedtime. Mmmmmm.......Good!
When we arrived back at our "Casa", these little fellows were just hangin" out on our building.
