Sunrise at Puerto Morelos this morning - Clinton was up early to get this shot

We have been sponsoring two children for education purposes in the school system of Puerto Morelos for a few years. There are a couple of friends here who set up visitations for us to meet with the children and their teachers.
This is the Intermediate School in the village of Puerto Morelos where the oldest of  the two children attends school. Can you imagine how nice it would be attending classes on the Caribbean Ocean

This is Allan and I with Juan who lives here in Puerto Morelos. Juan volunteers at his daughter's school as well as operating his own business. He took time  from cooking at his restaurant to accompany us to both schools today and act as interpreter. He even took us to meet Lorenzo's mother.
We find the locals here so friendly and willing to help you in any way they can.

The young man in this photo with us is Lorenzo, it is his first year in intermediate school and he is 12 years of age. He is learning English in his school and was able to communicate with us much more  than in previous years.  Lorenzo's teachers tell us he is a very intelligent young man and he has the full support of his mother in his educational endeavours. We are very happy for this and certainly hope his parents are proud of his accomplishments.

Daniela is so happy with her head bands

This is our girl Daniela, she is about 10 years and in Grade 3. She was not  able to attend school until the age of 7 which explains why she is at an older age than most children in her grade.

This little one is looking for lunch

Lots of sea grass on the beach today, it is nice to walk in, doesn't hurt the feet. Children have great fun playing with it.

A great picture Clinton, I love the colours and the light houses in the background create a nice touch.

She settled for a coconut cone

Many people in town tonight, the swimming meet is on tomorrow starting at 9 a.m. which included a 5 km, 2.5 km and a 1.25 km distances.

It has been another busy day, so I will close for now. Good night all!

Thurs Feb 16, 2012

Today was a busy day and as a result I don't have many pictures to show for it, however, I will share the few I do have.
The day, as you know if you have been watching facebook, began with Leigh and I going to the Jungle Spa for one of their famous massages. We could not resist including the aole vara/banana leaf wrap. It was  a total of 90 minutes of pure luxury and relaxation. An experience we were both happy toi have had.
Immediately following you will find the web site for the Jungle Market and Spa. It is just amazing what Sandra has done with and for these Mayan women. She has given them an independance they could never had imagined.

The day continued with beach time, walks about town and of course don't forget food and drink. This blog has given you inforamtion previously on the many wonderful restaurants here in Puerto Morelos. Take comfort in knowing nothing has changed.

Enough for chit chat, lets get on with the day's pics:

 The puzzle got completed today.

This is the view from Clinton and Leigh's accomodations at Villas Latinas. Standing facing the beach this is on your left (North)

This is directly in front - facing East and the picture below is facing South - on  your right

And this is the view from the beach. They really enjoy the place, it is clean, quiet and close to the beach.
