Feb 3, 2013 Puerto Morelos Bound!!!!!!

I get the message Nancy - thanks for pushing!!!

Our flight to Puerto Morelos, Mexico doesn't leave until Tues. Feb 5th , normally we would leave on Monday Feb 4th, but we decided due to unsettled weather perhaps we should leave a day early. Actually that was a good decision for many reasons. We left later in the morning - 9 a.m. instead of 6 a.m. which was our usual time for heading out and got to see more along the way. When we arrived in Toronto we had an extra day to relax and do a little more shopping. Allan needed sandals and I needed bigger shorts to get me home and off to Guatemala.

We stopped at the falls in Sheguiandah for a photo op.

This is our view passing over the Little Current bridge

unique pics I thought

Then on Goat Island we saw 3 deer - these pics would never have been available if we had have left at 6 in the morning - it still would have been dark when we reached this location,

Another winter scene between Birch Island and Whitefish Falls

A view of the falls at Whitefish Falls
Tower Hill at Whitefish Falls - this has always been an optical illusion for me - My mind  sees this hill much higher than it actually is.  I think it's because I see it like this for a very short period of time, as I drive closer  it gets higher.

Allan drives, I read, do sudoku, sleep, read, do sudoku, sleep, read ......at times I have the job of clarifying the JPS instructions - only because I can see the diagram on the screen.
Shirley  H. - now you know I need to be rested for this big job - it would be devastating to read the wrong instructions!!

This is the Espanola Mill and the Spanish River

We arrived in Barry for lunch and did some  shopping for my upcoming Guatemala Tour in March.
We also  dropped off 4 suitcases of  humanitarian items for that tour which will be transferred
to Collingwood before I return from Mexico
We booked into a ""MAN'S ROOM"" at the Travel lodge on Dixon Road - A place where Allan could view the park and fly AND the Toronto International Airport!!!
Had to take a picture of his MAN TOOLS!!!! Binoculars and glasses!

We had dinner at the Texas Lone Star across the street from the Travel Lodge.
This is our usual haunt before leaving Canada, only because  it serves Mexican food.
I have to say, the Mexican food in Canada and the USA
does not compare to what we get in Puerto Morelos.
