Sunday January 24, 2016

Wow - we can not believe we are going into our 4th week at Casa Pura Vida - the time has flew by so quickly

The BBQ works great - we have had lots of meals off it

and THE neighbourhood cat watches closely over the  edge of the roof to see what's cookin'.

Dwayne, we are stocking up on ketchup - if there is any left at the end of Feb it is yours!

We have had some rain - but nothing to keep us inside for long. Tuesday we went to Cancun and bought more stuff for the house. We are almost to the end of buying,  I think we have all we need to be comfortable now.

Allan  has installed the last of the ceiling fans.

This is THE neighbourhood cat, I am teaching him English. Here in mexico when you call a cat you do a  "psst, psst" sound - I am trying to teach him to come to kitty, kitty. He is leaning.  He is funny to watch - there are many other cats in the neighbourhood  but this fellow is the boss. (We relate to each other very well LOL!) When I started putting out food and water he came by and tested it, then he started bringing other cats in. He would sit outside the gate and let the others come in - one at a time - to eat and drink. Now the others come in at their own leisure. Animals are so interesting to watch.

New lamps - much better than overhead lighting.

On Wednesday we took a trip to Playa with
Gaston and Louise.  When we came back we stopped at Ole's for dinner and a little drink.

The first drink went down quickly -
the second didn't last any longer.

We were such good customers Ali - the wife of the owner - treated us to their house wine - Oh My!! delicious!

Cheers!

While in Playa we were able to find new window blinds. I was beginning to think we were going to have to keep the old ones for the balance of the vacation. We looked in every store we came across to get the right blinds - they either weren't the right size, the right colour or there weren't enough to cover all the windows. Then we found what we liked and there were 5 of them!

These following pics are of Louise and Gaston's home which is about a 20 minute walk from us. They are still in the midst of construction,

A beautiful hot afternoon, time for a brew and some R&R!

Yes it is 32  and it feels great!

On goes the steak for dinner!

Yep - it is 18 degrees in the evening.

This is the temperature this morning - Sunday 24th - rather chilly! It warmed up nicely later in the day. The weather temperature reminds me of late September, early October back home - cool evenings with nice warm afternoons. This won't last long, the weather will warm up again soon.

This fellow was working on our electrical panel today - Hmmmm - flip flops!

Allan's brother Howard and his wife Theresa are flying in tomorrow evening, we are really looking forward to their time with us. This will be their first time to Puerto Morelos, we are hoping they love it as much here as we do.
