Another beautiful day in Puerto Morelos

This morning we found our friends and neighbours (from Manitowaning and Puerto Morelos) on the beach watching the rising sun. This is Gaston and his rescue dog "Foxy". Foxy is from Puerto Morelos, she was running at large, had no collar and very little food. Gaston fell in love with her immediately and the two became very close friends. Foxy made the trip to Canada with Gaston and his first love - Louise where their permanent home is in Southern Ontario and their summer home is on Micheal's Bay Road in our hometown of Manitowaning.

Foxy gets her own  Canadian chair to sit in - if you look close  you can see her watering glass in the holder on the chair arm. This lady is not spoiled is she??

The masseuses are getting things set up for another busy day

This is Hot Dog out for his morning walk.

We hired Joaquin pronounced "okeen" to take us into Cancun to La Europea for our booze run and Walmart for other things we needed during  our stay. He helped us carry our provisions in, these taxi drivers certainly are helpful and very accommodating.

Some things never change - except the man that has always sat in this chair, we have made several trips down past and he is no where to be seen. We certainly hope nothing serious has happened to him, the little shop would not be able to run without his watchful eye.

it is just not the same without him there

There are several animals just wondering the streets, some seem to have owners, then there are many who don't.  It is common in all Mexican towns.

This fellow has a collar so he belongs to someone. He stopped for a restful nap in the parking lane of the main street. Colleen C. you would not sleep at night here knowing there are so many animals wandering at large. You will be happy to know there are several Colleens here, they put out food and water daily for these homeless animals. There is an organization that accepts financial donations to have the animals neutered and spayed. This way the animals are not put down and allowed to live the rest of their days without reproducing - thus controlling the animal population.

Tonight we had dinner at Cheer's

Cheers everyone!!

I enjoyed shrimp  empanadas

while Allan savoured his chicken tacos

This little fellow welcomes us every time we return to our condo. We also have a real iguana that hangs out on the cement wall surrounding our property, he peeks over at us - neat if you like iguanas.

The end of another beautiful day in Puerto Morelos!!
