To all of my facebook friends and faithful blog followers - there will be no blog this week. The reason is simple - I haven't been out of the house except for a trip to the Dr.'s Office.
I am on the road to recovery - not expecting any setbacks but if they come they will be dealt with in a timely fashion. The last of my parasitic medication (to kill the ameoba) was taken last night and I have antibiotics to last until the end of Tuesday this week. From there I am on probiotics for a few more days and back to a normal diet. Since my last Dr.'s visit I have been on a bland diet, no meat, no fish, no acidic fruits, no milk or milk products, no fried foods and definitely no alcohol. This bland diet hasn't been as big of a problem as I anticipated because I really haven't had any desire to eat.
The medical treatment here in Puerto Morelos is very impressive. You won't believe this.... the doctor gave me an abdominal ultrasound in his office and gave me the results as he was doing the test. All internal organs (liver, gallbladder, pancreas, stomach and bladder) were fine, however, the intestine was quite swollen. Thus the antibiotics.
The condition has left me tiring easily so I have been taking lots of rest periods which seem to always end up being nap periods.
Plans are in the making for a few outings this week so if all goes well there will be a blog post next Sunday. Until then do a good deed for someone you haven't done so in a while and stay safe.
