Saturday Feb 22nd and Sunday Feb 23, 2014

Saturday evening at 6:30 there was a circus in the Town Square

For the first time ever I used my camera to the best of my ability for action night shots - on manual settings.

As you will see I need a lot more practice,

Well they say nothing ventured - nothing gained, and have been able to pick out some of my mistakes. Mistakes hopefully to be corrected the next time I do night action shots.

The show opened to a full crowd of the young and the  young at heart.

This was the bearded, pregnant lady and her family.

 .
I certainly don't think I was ever that supple let alone when I was pregnant. Perhaps it was because I didn't let my beard grow.

This fellow entertained us with his ability to catch a round object on a string. Now that would be a major feat for anyone to do in the daylight, but he is able to do it in very poor lighting. I think there was a groove on the coloured object that the string slid into when it connected - but still!

I am not sure which I enjoyed the most, the circus performers or these two little girls who danced and hugged throughout the evening. They had so much fun together, it was a pleasure to watch.

Wow, this would be like having  your own personal Ferris Wheel all to yourself!

Oh, man he was good!

I can't help but wonder how dizzy he was when finished.

These little girls never missed a step as they danced to the circus performers music.

I have no idea how this action happened - it does not appear that either are a video!
????? possibly another picasa surprise like the snow flakes? Nice effect though isn't it?

You have to admit it is eye catching!

Then they held a pet show.

Dogs were the only pets shown, some were much more obedient than others.

And the girls danced!

The pole performers were very interesting to watch. They  had us holding our breath and gasping in fright at times when they would drop down the pole and stop themselves just before touching the cement pad.

Wow what a performance, the applause  showed the crowd's  tremendous appreciation for a show well done!

I hope the tipping hat showed the same appreciation for their hard work.

After the circus performance we tucked ourselves into  Los Gauchos for dinner

On our walk about town after dinner we stopped to see our favourite wood carver.

Early Sunday Morning, Puerto Morelos was very quiet but that only lasted for a very short time then the town filled with weekend sun worshipers.

The iguanas are in mating season I think - he wants to and she doesn't - sound familiar?

The flowers are beautiful so I took lots of pictures. I have no idea what the names of them are, but I figure you don't need to know their names to enjoy them.

If you look really close you can see this old fellow has been in a recent scrap, he has a blood stained mark just back from his eye. I am guessing he didn't want to take "No!" for an answer.

This is the condo Ann, Bev, Jan and Bob have rented for their stay.

They fly in Wednesday evening and will be here for 2 weeks. Their first week is our last week.

Yes, our time is drawing to an end again, it always goes fast. We fly home on the morning of March 5th. In just 11 months we will be back!

I can not get over the size of these leaves - they are huge!!

So until my next update try to stay warm while we try to stay cool.  Let's all stay safe!
