Another Beautiful Day In Paradise
The price of propane is as much here as it is in Canada
More flowers girls
Leigh, the renovations are still ongoing at Cantina Habaneros,
people are getting anxious for it to open again.
It is the hot spot for the gringo bar circle.
One happy, happy person sitting on the street corner playing his bongo
I can't help but wonder if he had head lice in those dreadlocks
and if so would they be jiving to the beat?
We took a walk in the Colonia today - the church has been painted since last year. We didn't go into it on this visit but certainly will before the end of the vacation.
The town workers were planting palm trees, the ground is so hard they don't use a bucket, they use a hydraulic ground breaker. There is very few inches of top soil in this area, the ground is porous lime stone. Wouldn't Mike G have a wonderful time here!
This is one family's castle
Very common to see hens walking about
This is the Secondary School in the Colonia where we donated the computers last week
This is a beautiful looking home in the Colonia - some have so little and others have so much.
They do love their flowers and flowering shrubs.
Allan is always amazed at their electrical wiring
Not sure what this is, perhaps a storage building????
You have to admire people who still live in their Mayan homes, thank goodness for the invention of plastic to keep the rains out.
We stopped at "La Luna IIena" for lunch, they sell pizza, baguettes etc., and at one end of the
restaurant there is a little business that makes sushi.
This fellow is preparing shrimp. I didn't try any - sushi in Mexico heat makes me leary.
This is La Luna IIena staff
And this is our pizza " Delicioso"
After leaving the restaurant and heading back home we came across a taco factory
A far cry from the old method of hand rolling
I'm not sure if this residence is still being used
The Colonia Library- how would you like to work in Mexico Debbie?
Another stray dog.
What a unique idea for the cross bar rider - some man loves his woman
Plastic, Plastic, Plastic! What are we doing to our planet?????
Along the roadsides coming into the Puerto Morelos Hotel Zone where we stay there are several signs along the way warning people of crocodiles. They are in the mangrove swamps and occasionally come close to the roadsides where people and animals are walking. I would expect here have been some near misses or possibly not misses or the signage wouldn't be posted. In past years we walked this road to the Colonia several times. We haven't done so yet this year.
Leigh, the men are working around the clock to get Cantina Habaneros
ready for your first drink in Puerto Morelos.
This is the house that our friends Gaston and Louise have rented, they had to relocated because of Foxy. Foxy gets her own bedroom now.
This is Mexican Dogie Siesta
This little fellow rubbed up against our legs as we ate, looking for handouts no doubt.
This draws to a close another beautiful day in Puerto Morelos.
Hoasta Manana!
