We took the ADO and ventured into Play del Carmen for a day of sightseeing and visiting with friends from the "UP" (upper peninsula) of Michigan. They vacation at "El dorado Spa and Resort" which is about 15 minutes south of Puerto Morelos. Our ADO bus awaits us

Allan and Bob in line to get tickets for the ADO back to Puerto Morelos

Even the bartender took cover during the rain

Having a little fun during the rain in Playa del Carmen

Another modelling of hats?

Allan was served a "Sol" on ice - big suck!!

We ducked into this little place during the rain

Lunch in Playa

Friends from the "UP"

We had lunch here in Playa

We are waiting for the ADO bus to come along and take us to Play del Carmen

The lighthouses under a friendly morning sky.
I can't seem to get enough pictures of this scene - the old lighthouse to me represents a strong history of the area, it's people and the challenges faced; the new lighthouse represents a future of optimism and promise.
Another excellent dinner was enjoyed here

A "Miami Vice" made especially for me at Ed's "Cantina Habanero"
which tasted awesome on a hot afternoon.

This is interesting - camouflaged??

The light houses under a sulking sky

A fisherman at the pier in Puerto Morelos -
he is cleaning his catch of the day; you will notice
in the small box to the left of his foot there are lobster tails
This is our server at the local Ice Cream Shop - my favourite flavour is "COCONUT"
there are strips of real coconut in it -mmmmmmmmmmmm - SO GOOD!

Many choices of great tasting produce at the Market
The Wednesday Fruit and Vegetable Market by the Church in Puerto Morelos - great fresh fruit at reasonable prices
