Our favourite waitress at Posada Amor - Andrea. She is attending high school in the Colonia and plans to further her education in Cancun taking childhood psychology. She has a steady boyfriend, the relationship sounds quite serious but she says she is waiting until her education is finished before settling down with him.The ring is beautiful and we are really happy for her - she is a nice kid.

This is Jorge - pronounced "ho-hay" in Spanish ("George" in English) outside of his establishment. If you are looking for a good place to eat between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the Colonia of Puerto Morelos this is the place to go. You will again find it directly south on the highway past the gas station. We had his lamb tacos for lunch and they were delicious! Without a doubt, we will be back! We wish him the best in his business and look forward to seeing him and his staff again on our return visit next year. This is definitely a must visit if you are looking for someplace to eat while in the Colonia! Limited English spoken here but a valiant attempt - we have no skills in the Spanish language and had no problem understanding him and his staff.

When we finished at the Crococun Zoo we decided to stop at the Colonia for lunch. We had lamb tacos which were prepared by the chef George at the Crazy Lamb.

More Spider Monkeys. There are only females in the area and as said before they are in the wild. The male monkeys come by once a year and entice the ladies away for a party (mating party - with the fertility goddess Ixchel as the guest of honour???), they come back pregnant.The males are more territorial and do not like the closeness of humans, I suppose that is the main reason for them staying away.

There are 50 Crocs in this area and we were able to walk among them - but not allowed to get too close.

From Wikipedia The Mexican Hairless Dog is a rare, hairless breed of dog whose size varies greatly. It is also known as Xoloitzcuintli or Xoloitzcuintle pronounced /ʃoʊloʊiːtskwiːntli/ (approx. sho-lo-eets-quint-lee); pronounced by some Spanish speakers as sho-lo-skwink-le. This dog needs shade because it will sunburn due to it's lack of hair.

Today we decided to visit the "Crococun Zoo" which means "Crocodile Nest" just about 5 minutes North of Puerto Morelos. What an experience! We were very fortunate to have Bruno as our guide - he was very knowledgable and a lot of fun.The pictures are self explanitory so unless there is something more to add the captions are blank.
