Casa Pura Vida Saturday January 9, 2016

Today was an exciting day, we went to Cancun with Abraham on a shopping trip! Home Depot here we come!!!

Our good friend Abraham dropped us off at Home Depot to start our shopping spree for Casa Pura Vida while he ran some errands. Now you have to know Abraham - he reminds us so much of Clinton and Dwayne. Those of you who know them both, now just imagine those two rolled into one! Oh My Goodness! Clinton never gets in a rush - so here is Abraham  paying bills just before the cut off date and while on those errands he blows a boot - his flip flops flopped and he had to go around paying bills in his bare feet. Nice touch for the bill collectors right? Once the bills are paid he buys new flip flops and joins us to assist with our shopping.

Abraham and Allan are serious here, they are looking at plumbing accessories - oh that is a female term perhaps - would they say plumbing fittings maybe?

We are buying a new ladder - don't have anywhere to store it but we need it................Hmmm! Allan will use this the next time he has to look over the wall to see what is causing the smell and not have to bother Diane and her affiliates from Cause4paws.

We finished shopping and had the car loaded down with items from Home Depot then we went to another store to look for outdoor patio lights. When we were ready to leave (Dwayne trying to save a dollar puts off until tomorrow what he should be buying today) Abraham's car wouldn't start. He gets a free boost (Dwayne happy, happy, happy! - it was free) Hmmm - we now need to go to a service station to buy a new battery, it cost Abraham the Canadian equivalent of about $250.00. (Clinton smiles and takes it in his stride)  Do you see there are 3 men changing a battery? In Mexico eh?

This shows the floor drain in going to work

A job well done!
.

Abraham came by later in the evening to help
install a drain one way valve in our shower which
had been another source of  bad smell.

Abraham leaving following  a lesson
from Allan on how to tie knots.

We thought this was a piece of cement which had been used to cover a hole - turns out it is used to do laundry. Same idea as our old scrub boards but much, much, heavier of course.

I bought a new mirror today - this is the old one. It had to be replaced due to the frame coming off.

This oval one is the replacement. I would love to get rid of the green sink but it will have to wait a while. This one still works - that is the important thing right now.

The shower doors are going to be removed and the shelving above the toilet. The shelving is rusted and the shower doors are holding a lot of mold and yuk! The after pictures will come a little later in the week hopefully.

Allan working late in the evening putting the new bathroom shelving unit together.

It has been an interesting day and a lot of fun. Soo looking forward to tomorrow!
