Bee Hive shaped burners - they were used to burn all scarps of wood from their lumbering industry. These are not used any longer due to polution issues. They are now making building materials from the waste they used to burn.

Today we leave Kamloops with a train of 28 cars and 1,000 passengers. The train tour from Jasper met us in Kamloops to make the balance of the journey into Vancouver. The Rocky Mountaineer brings over 80,000 people into Kamloops annually.

Banff to Kamloops

The photo opportunites were abundant! Remember, you have to go to the bottom of the page to get to the beginning of the day.

At the end of the day we attended the Dinner/Theatre in Kamloops "Rhythm on the Rails" - it was a very enjoyable evening. 8 preformers put on such an energenic preformance it would have been a shame to have missed it.

This picture is dark because we are going through a tunnel
